The Hosts
Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz

CWT

Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz, who previously hosted this competition in 2008, returns this year. He plans, writes, designs and presents soirees, matinees and lectures on significant topics, works and characters of opera, operetta and of musical. He also develops musical specials for radio and television. As host and conférencier of these evenings and programmes, but also of social-cultural major events like the “Wiener Opernball”, Wagner-Trenkwitz is able to reach a large audience. He fills his audience with enthusiasm demonstrating his charm, wit and a thorough understanding of the “musical theatre universe”.

As a favourite with the public on all large stages (Volksoper Wien, Wiener Staatsoper, Salzburger Festspiele, Berliner Staatsoper, Bregenzer Festspiele), Wagner-Trenkwitz can today fill a gap that existed for years. On stage or on television Wagner-Trenkwitz does not only take on the legacy of famous idols but also sets new standards as Viennese cosmopolitan.
