His bond with the two Slovaks goes much deeper than mere instrumental virtuosity – it is their constant appetite for classical accuracy and a jazz-based zest for improvisation.

Georg Breinschmid

Georg BreinschmidGeorg Breinschmid was born in 1973 and lives in Vienna. He is one of the leading Austrian jazz musicians on the international scene.

Breinschmid studied classical bass at Vienna University. As a student he worked as a substitute in the big Viennese orchestras, and also played chamber music with orchestras such as the Amadeus–Ensemble, Ensemble Kontrapunkte and Die Reihe.

Stian Carstensen

Stian CarstensenStian Carstensen (born 1971) is a multi-instrument Norwegian musician.

Carstensen was born in Eidsvoll. He started as an accordion player at the age of 9. He first learned from his father, and later from a classical player which he attended for 4 years. During this time he played in Norwegian tv, radio, festivals etc. He also toured in America, playing classical music. At the same time he was also into swing jazz, and his father who also played bass, played standard tunes with him.

Anja-Nina Bahrmann

Anja-Nina BahrmannAnja-Nina Bahrmann was born in Siegburg/Germany. She studied at the Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Prof. Jeanne Piland and participated in masterclasses with Prof. Ingeborg Most, Prof. Christiane Oelze, Christine Schäfer and Leonard Hokanson. She graduated with distinction and received the stipend of the Jütting Foundation.

In 2005 she was laureate of the 4th international Hilde Zadek Competition and received the Schönberg award. In the same year, she won the Richard Strauss competition in Munich. For outstanding artistic achievements KS Brigitte Fassbaender awarded her with the Richard Strauss certificate.

Artur Rucinski

Artur RucinskiArtur Rucinski has been invited by Daniel Barenboim to sing Eugen Onegin at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin in March/April 2010 under the baton of the Maestro himself and with Rolando Villazon as tenor colleague. Also in April 2010 Mr. Rucinski will be appearing in Carmina Burana at the Vienna Musikverein and in May 2010 at the opening gala of the Vienna Festwochen which is going to be televised live in about 25 countries.

In summer 2010 he will make his debut at the Bregenz Festival as Tadeusz in the rarely performed opera The Passenger by Mieczyslaw Weinberg.
