Lukáš Dittrich, 18, Clarinet
Born in 1992 in the south bohemian city of Jindrichuv Hradec, Lukas Dittrich began to play the piano at age five and the clarinet at age eight. He began his musical studies at the musical school in Jindrichuv Hradec and Treboll before moving on the to study at the Brno Conservatory under guidance of Lubomir Bartoli.
He began performing while still at musical school and has since then won numerous awards as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In 2007 he took part in Concertino Praga competition. Since 2008 he has been member of the chamber ensemble D-Trio Brno, which has given performances broadcast on Czech radio. In 2006 he was honoured for being the most successful student of arts in Jindrichuv Hradec.
During the summer months he attends clarinet classes, has regularly performed and continues to perform at the annual Clarinet Festival in Zirovnice as well as studying at the French-Czech Academy in Telc with the clarinetist Michel Raison.
Lukas comes from a musical family, his father is a clarinet teacher and his sister studies the clarinet at the Prague Music Academy.He speaks Czech and English and next to clarinet and piano he also plays the saxophone. His favorite composition is Symphony NO.9 "From the New World" by Antonin Dvorak who is also his favourite composer. His musical idol is the clarinetist Alessandro Carbonare.
He enjoys listening to a wide range of music, especially the jazz of saxophonist Wayne Shorter, who Lukas was honored to meet personally, and his Quartet. He aspires to become a professional musician and hopes that his travels someday take him to New Zealand to enjoy its rugged beauty. |
