About Michaela Špačková
Michaela Špačková was chosen to represent the Czech Republic on 16 February 2012 after winning a national selection that was held in Brno. She has won several prizes during her career so far, and has toured across the Continent with many different orchestras.
Michaela Špačková was born on July 7th, 1993 in Prague. At the age of eight she began to study the piano and recorder with Lenka Musilova at elementary music school. She entered music high school in 2005, where she started her studies on the bassoon with Lukáš Kořínek. She plays a lot of chamber music – with different chamber ensembles and orchestras. She has won many competitions, such as Concerto Bohemia, Young Prague etc. and she performs across Europe with different orchestras.
As a soloist she has won first prize at the Czech Conservatoirs Competition. In 2010 she played as the first bassoonist with the European Youth Orchestra CEI. In 2011 she performed with Prague Chamber Philharmonic, won 2nd prize at the international competition Probohemia in Ostrava and took part in bassoon masterclasses with Václav Vonášek.
