About Bohdan Ivasyk

Born on 17 October 1994 in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Bohdan Ivasyk was selected as this year’s representative from Ukraine in a national selection held in February. Since 2006 he has studied at the Lviv Secondary Specialized Boarding School in the class professor Ihor Mykhailovych Pylatiuk, who was named as the People’s Artist of Ukraine.

Bohdan’s musical training started at the musical school № 13 in Kryvyi Rih, and from there he mbarked on his studies at the Moscow Central Music School in the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. In 2007 Bohdan won the International Television Competition “Shchelkunchik” (“The Nutcracker”) which took place in Moscow, Russia. As soloist he has since participated as a part of different ensembles in Ukraine with the State Chamber Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra of Lviv National Philarmonic and with the Symphony Orchestra of Ternopil Oblast. In 2011 he played with the Philarmonic Orchestra of Zelena Hura in Poland under head conductor Cheslav Hrabovskyi.
