About Sara Domjanić

Sara Plank, whose civil name is Sara Domjanić was born in Vaduz in 1997, and took up playing the violin at the age of four. She began lessons with Markus Kessler, and also received private classes with Professor Herbert Scherz in Zurich as of 2004.

Aged eleven Sara successfully passed the entrance exam at the University of Arts in Berlin, and then was a student at the Julius Stern Institute in the class of Professor Latica Honda-Rosenberg. Currently she is attending music high school in Feldkirch, whilst also studying voice at the Vorarlberg Conservatory. Sara has attended master classes with acclaimed pedagogues such as Gerhard Mantel, Arbo Valdma, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Thomas Brandis, Coosje Wijzenbeek, Professor Ana Chumachenco and Professor Rudens Turku.

Sara won her first violin competition at the age of five, and has since been victorious several times at the Austrian regional and national competition ‘Prima la Musica’. In 2008, she won the Panel´s Prize in Liechtenstein for her musical talent and first prize at the Chamber Music Competition KIWANIS with the „Trio Ingenium Musicum“ in Switzerland. She also won first prizes at both the Music Youth Competitions in Liechtenstein and Switzerland, as well as at the International Competition „Etudes and Scales“ in Croatia.

Sara has appeared as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra Dubrovnik, Belarus Philharmonic Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists, Franz Schmidt Chamber Orchestra from Vienna, Gnessin Orchestra Moscow, the Dutch string orchestra Fancy Fiddlers or the Chamber Orchestra of the Julius-Stern-Institute in Berlin. At thirteen, she made her debut at the Philharmonie Berlin, and has also guested at the Epidaurus Festival as well as at acclaimed venues such as the Tonhalle Zürich, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Gasteig-Philharmonie Munich, Friedrichspalast in Berlin, Centre Culturel in Paris, Knezev Dvor in Dubrovnik and at the Vishnevskaya Opera in Moscow. In January 2012 Sara was invited to perform at the festival in the Sultanate of Oman and made her debut at the "Kissinger Musiksommer" in July 2012.
