About Judith Stapf

Judith Stapf was born on the 31st of May in 1997 in Rheinbach, Germany. She started playing the violin with Karina Susanne Stieren when she was three years old. Soon after that she had her concert debut at the Old Opera in Frankfurt in 2005. In 2006 and 2007, she had her first concerts as a soloist with orchestra. She played in the basilica St. Mary’s in the capitol and the philharmonic hall, both located in Cologne, Germany.

Since 2008 she studied at the Pre-College with Prof. Ute Hasenauer at the University of Music and Dance, Cologne. In winter semester 2013/14, Judith was accepted as a degree student.

After winning first prizes at the national competitions of “Jugend musiziert” in 2010 and 2013, she won the 5th Prize at the “7th International Rotary Children Music Competition” in Moscow, Russia and a “Premier Prix” at the “20e Concours International Flame” in Paris, France.
First prizes followed on at the international Max-Bruch-Competition in 2011 and at the Mary-Smart-Competition of “Summit Music Festivals” in New York.
She took part in international masterclasses of Prof. Saschko Gawriloff and gave concerts within the context of the “Schleswig-Holstein Musicfestival” and the “Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festivals” in Germany.

She attended masterclasses with Pinchas Zukerman (Ottawa, Canada), Aaron Roseland (New York, USA) and Prof. Boris Kuschnir (Blonay, Switzerland).

Besides recitals and concerts of chamber music, she regularly gives concerts as a soloist with orchestra. Judith played with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Wojciech Raiski, the Rhine-Erft-Philharmonic Orchestra led by Christian Letschert-Larsson, the Bayer Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kenneth Duryea and the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Philip Armbruster.
