About Ludvig Gudim
Ludvig was born in February 1999 in Oslo, Norway. He started playing the violin at the age of five.
From 2007 he was a student at the Barratt Due Institute of Music and in 2013 he travelled to New York City and participated in the Perlman Music Program, a summer programme for gifted young musicians. Ludvig spends 10 to 12 weeks in NYC every year.
Ludvig has won numerous national and international awards and has participated in master classes in Norway and abroad. He won third prize in the 2014 Menuhin Competition, the world's leading international violin competition for players under 22 years old. He was also awarded the title “Musician of the year” in the Young Musicians Competition (UMM) in Norway.
He has performed with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Brussels Chamber Orchestra, Vietnam National Symphonic Orchestra, Trondheim Soloists, Oslo Camerata and the Royal Norwegian Navy Band.
Ludvig is also a keen chamber musician and has played chamber music with Itzhak Perlman, Henning Kraggerud, Lars Anders Tomter and Dora Schwarzberg and Ivry Gitlis among others.
