17-Year old violinist Bohdan Ivasyk has been chosen by Ukraine's broadcaster NTU to represent them at the 2012 Eurovision Young Musicians competition. Bohdan is from Lviv, and was chosen by a professional jury to make the trip to Austria in May.

Czechs pick Michaela Špačková
The Czech Republic have decided that 18-year old Michaela Špačková will represent them in this year's Eurovision Young Musicians. The Bassoonist from Prague was chosen by a jury at a selection process in Brno. She has won several prizes during her career so far, and has toured across the Continent with many different orchestras.

Fourteen Countries Ready for 2012
A total of 14 countries have submitted applications to take part in this year's Eurovision Young Musicians competition, that will take place at the Ratzhausplatz Vienna, Austria, on 11 May. Four countries will enter the competition for the first time, whilst Slovenia are the defending champions.

Georgia to make debut
Georgian Public Broadcasting will take part in Eurovision Young Musicians for the first time this year, and will hold their national selection on March 11. The deadline to submit applications passed today, and on February 20 the finalists will be announced by a professional jury. Together with Armenia, Georgia represents the second Caucus country to make their debut this year.

Czech Republic Final Tomorrow
The Czech Republic is preparing for the 2012 Eurovision Young Musicians competition with their national selection tomorrow at in the second largest city, Brno. Thirteen musicians under 20 years old will take part, with a jury deciding who will go to Vienna- and who will receive a special, additional, prize.

Belarus Begin Preparations
Belarus is preparing for only its second ever participation in the Eurovision Young Musicians Contest. Broadcaster Belteleradio Company plans to hold a national final next month before the contest in May, and will also broadcast the final live from Vienna on their first channel.
