Prague, Czech Republic -

The youngest participant in this year’s Eurovision Young Musicians competition is just 11 years old, and comes from the Czech Republic!

Martin Kot, who plays the accordion, won through the Czech national selection in February where some of the participants were more than seven years older than him.

With just over a week before his trip to Cologne, is Martin feeling excited about taking part in Eurovision Young musicians? “Yes, I am. It will be one of the most interesting experiences in my life” he revealed.

Practise makes perfect for all of our participants, and Martin is no different. “I am playing the according hard each day” he says, in preparation for the event.

The first thing that Marin must pack will, of course, be his accordion. However he’ll also be taking a couple of other special things to Cologne with him too! “I will definitely pack my lucky charms, two elephants, and also my video camera” Martin told us.
