Radom, Poland -

With just 15 days remaining until Eurovision Young Musicians 2014, both the excitement and preparations for our 14 participants are hotting up. Next up we meet Bartosz Kołsut from Poland, who will be combing the competition with some other rather important studying!

Poland won Eurovision Young Musicians in 1992 and 2000, thanks to Bartłomiej Nizioł and Stanislaw Drzewiecki respectively. This year, the nation is represented by 18-year old Bartosz Kołsut who comes from Radom, located around 100km from Warsaw.

Bartosz won the ticket to Cologne after beating off competition from six other finalists in a national selection organised by TVP in late March. How is he feeling now just a week out from arriving in Cologne? “I'm really excited to be participating in Eurovision. I'm ready for the competition, I feel well and relaxed” Bartosz told us.

I’m practising the instrument and I prepare myself mentally” said Bartosz, who only turned 18 six days ago. “This is the most important thing, if you want to play well”.

Bartosz is one of two accordion players in this year’s competition. Aside from taking part in Eurovision Young Musicians, and perfecting his performance, Bartosz is also going to be busy studying for another big event in his life. “I am going to take a book with driving tests to Cologne”, he explains, “because I would like to pass the exam and receive a driving licence”.
