Meet Malta's representative Dmitry Ishkhanov
Cologne, Germany -

Aged 11 Dmitry Ishkhanov is the youngest participant in Eurovision Young Musicians 2016. He was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to Malta in 2008. On Saturday the pianist will perform the first movement of Kabelevsky's third piano concerto.

Dmitry speak four languages fluently; Russian, English, German and Spanish. Whilst he is a serious and dedicated musician, and proud to represent Malta, he also believes that the participants should enjoy the experience of the competition. As he explains, "for me the main goal is to have fun but if I win then of course I will be very happy and leave the contest with a smile".

Dmitry started playing the piano when he was four years old and continues to enjoy playing. "The piano is like my little brother or sister", he adds with a smile.

A big well done to this very promising young musician. Malta is so proud of you, young man. Being a pianist myself, I was stunned by his performance at such a tender age! Way to go sweet Dmitry! report to the moderator
