Georgia to make debut

Georgian Public Broadcasting will take part in Eurovision Young Musicians for the first time this year, and will hold their national selection on March 11. The deadline to submit applications passed today, and on February 20 the finalists will be announced by a professional jury. Together with Armenia, Georgia represents the second Caucus country to make their debut this year.

Georgian Public television GBP will make their debut at this year's Eurovision Young Musicians competition, which is to be held on Friday 11 May in Vienna Austria.

The broadcaster is working in co-operation with Georgia’s Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection, and together they have announced a national selection procedure to choose their representative for Vienna.

Interested soloists, who are under 20 years old, are asked to present a musical piece in audio format, together with an an autobiography and a photo to the broadcaster. The contenders are encouraged to apply until February 15, 18:00 pm to the following address:

The selection process itself will be held in 3 stages:

During the first round, all submitted applications will be analysed and examined by a specialist jury. The second round will see the announcement of the best 20 entries, and this will be happening in the coming days. The 6 best candidates will be selected by professional jury for the Final , which will be held on March 11. There, the finalists will be accompanied by a live orchestra.

    im glad georgia and armenia are taking part of this, i never even heard of the contest till today, i will be watching report to the moderator
