Eight young musicians have been chosen to take part in the Croatian Eurovision Young Musicians finals, giving them the chance fight for their place in Cologne.

The first stage of the Croatian competition was the auditions, which were held on February 16th in HRT’s Zvonimir Bajsić Studio. The jury cose eight Young Musicians to make the final. On the jury were: conductor Vladimir Kranjčević (President), musicologist Bojana Plećaš Kalebota, music publicist Zlatko Madžar, journalist and music critic Branimir Pofuk, and Director of Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall Dražen Siriščević.

The national selection itself will take place on 6 March at 18:45. Live on television and in front of a studio audience in the Kornat Hall in Hypo Centar, Zagreb, the following musicians will perform with the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro Alan Bjelinski,: Roland Grlica (piano), Martina Jembrišak (accordion), Igor Šajatović (double bass), Vid Veljak (violoncello), Lovro Peretić (guitar), Martin Krpan (violin), Sebastijan Sarapa (clarinet) and Sara Domjanić (violin).

Filip Merčep, who represented Croatia in 2010, will perform a special piece during the show.
