Stockholm -

Sweden, which made its Eurovision Young Musicians debut back in 1994, chose its participant for this year's event in Cologne through the 'Polstjärnepriset' competition.

Winning the prize was 17-year old Eliot Nordqvist, a pianist from Stockholm. Eliot, who is currently studying at the Lilla Akademien in his country's capital city, will represent Sweden ten years after fellow countryman Andreas Brantelid, a cellist, won the competition in Vienna's Rathausplatz.

Albin Uusijärvi represented the Scandinavian national two years ago in Cologne playing the viola. Eliot is the first Swede to take part in the competition not playing a string instrument.
