The Eurovision Young Musicians 2014 contest has finally got underway, with our first pre-round show held at WDR’s Funkhaus building in the heart of Cologne’s city centre.

The pre-round is new to the contest and been a major change since the last contest in 2012, that will give our performers more chance to impress our judges. The pre-round counts for half of each musician’s total score which is then combined with the judges results at the final on Saturday to find a winner.

This afternoon seven contestants performed for our judges: Sonoko Miriam Welde for Norway, Sara Domjanic for Croatia, Kurt Aquilana for Malta, Gergely Devich for Hungary, Urban Stanic for Slovenia, Ziyu He for Austria and Lucie Horsch for The Netherlands.

If you didn’t have chance to stream the first pre-round on Youngmusicians.tv you can watch it anytime on demand here: http://www.youngmusicians.tv/esctv/past?program=111883
