Solna, Sweden -

Sweden selected their Eurovision Young Musicians 2014 representative way back in January. Albin Uusijärvi was announced as the winner of Polstjärnepriset 2014 in Gothenburg over three other participants, and won the ticket to Cologne as well!

The 18-year old comes from Solna, and plays the viola, and has watched Eurovision Young Musicians over a number of years. “I'm very excited about Young Musicians 2014. It's kind of crazy to be participating in the competition I watched on TV many years ago. Back then it was so far away, and now it's right around the corner!” Albin revealed to us.

Indeed the competition is just around the corner, with just over a week to go until the delegations will head off to Cologne. How is Albin preparing? “I'm trying to not only prepare myself with my instrument, but also mentally. Being prepared to stand on the big stage in front of the cameras is just as important as being comfortable with the pieces I'm playing” he says.

Of course Albin cannot forget to pack his instrument, namely his viola, for the trip to Cologne – but will be bringing anything else special in his suitcase? “I can’t think of anything except for clothes and essentials – but I will bring my family and some close friends too. Although, not in my suitcase!”
