Fourteen year old tamburitza player Marko Martinović will represent Croatia in Eurovision Young Musicians 2016!

Marko Martinović completed elementary music school, majoring in tambura and accordion. He is currently in his freshman year of the secondary tambura school at the Novska Music School in.

During his schooling he participated in many school, regional and national competitions where he achieved outstanding results. In 2015 he won first prizes in the tenor tambura discipline at both the Sonus op. 1 Competition for Young Musicians in Križevci, and at the National Competition for Music and Dance Students. Earlier this year Marko was awarded the Iskra Foundation prize for gifted children of the Sisak-Moslavina County.

Marko is also actively involved in folk music, playing tambura samica and tenor tambura in the tamburitza band of the KUD Javor, Jazavica, which took first prize at the Tamburitza Players Folklore Festival for the Sisak-Moslavina County in 2014.
