Cologne, Germany -

Croatia will be represented in Eurovision Young Musicians this year by Marko Martinović, who is from Zagreb. The 14 year old musician will play the tamburitza, a traditional Croatian instrument. Marko will play Massenet's Mediations from the Opera Thais. He made his stage debut in 2008 and Eurovision Young Musicians marks his arrival on the international stage.

"It's the first time for me doing an event like this", said Marko, "I'm happy to perform in another country". Marko is especially proud to be performing a traditional instrument. "If I win it would be unbelievable, I would go crazy for two days".

Marko's teacher Filip Novosel has accompanied him to Cologne and the young musician also had a message for those who have supported him along the way. "My greetings are going out to everyone that supports me and also to those who play my kind of instrument. I will try to win the competition for them and for my home country, Croatia", he said.
