Meet our Interval Act… Flying Steps
Our interbal act Flying Steps(c) Flyingsteps.de

Flying Steps are an internationally acclaimed and successful German dance crew, thrilling audiences with their breathing taking performances and unique choreography. They will be entertaining the crowds at the final outside Cologne Cathedral in the Roncalliplatz while our Jury are deciding the winner of Eurovision Young Musicians 2014.

The Flying Steps were founded in 1993 in the German capital of Berlin by Vartan Bassil and Kadir ‘Amigo’ Memis. These B-Boys specialise in urban dance styles such as breakdancing, popping and locking and have won several dance battles leading them to titles such as Battle of the Year and winners of the Red Bull Beat Battle.

One of the special ingredients Flying Steps have is the ability to mash urban dancing with classical music bringing it a new setting and a fresh new twist and their unique performances have attracted sold out crowds across Germany and Europe. They have also attracted awards such as an ECHO Klassik award for their Red Bull Flying Bach show which consequently toured the globe since 2012 following tours in Europe over 2010 and 2011.

This year has seen the premiere of yet another ground breaking production Red Bull Flying Illusion at the Tempodrom in Berlin, and the show has begun to tour Germany and subsequent world dates are in the works.

Not only do these guys dance, they teach as well, opening the Flying Steps Academy in 2007 and a newer academy Berlin in 2013 to celebrate the group’s 20-year anniversary, where a new generation of urban dancers are learning from the best unique skills.

Flying Steps are sure to be an enthralling interval act and our crowds are in for a real treat this Saturday.
