Oslo, Norway -

The three remaining finalists in Norway's Eurovision Young Musicians selection process have been announced!

The last three contestants to make it to the final of Virtuos in Norway are: Mirjam Kammler (cello), Julie Frøysten (tuba), and Trond Sagbakken (trumpet).

Mirjam Kammler started playing the cello when she was five years old. "My parents, who are both musicians, tried to persuade me to play the cello, but it was not until I had seen a documentary on Truls Mørk that I agreed to start playing" she says. "I come from a musical family and I am used to listen to a lot of music at home. When I’m not playing the cello, I like to play the piano, sing in a choir and read."

Julie Frøysten started playing when she was in a schoolband aged just eight years old. "At the age of thirteen I switched to tuba. I have two sisters – one who plays the flute and one who plays piano and clarinet. When I’m not playing, I enjoy being with friends, go for walks and read" she told us.

Finally Trond Sagbakken playing the trumpet when he was three years old. "My parents used to play the cornet, and that was the instrument I played with at home. I went to Gausdal Municipal Cultural School when I was four years old and I attended Barratt Due Institute of Music at the age of ten" he revealed. Trond has participated in several national and international competitions and won prices. He has also been a soloist with several orchestras, among them Orchestra Giovanile del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Luxembourg Military Band.
