Last night saw the official opening of the 2014 edition of Eurovision Young Musicians, in the Cologne City Hall, located in Hohe Strasse. Twelve out of fourteen young musicians attended the Opening Ceremony.

Mr. Jürgen Roters, the Mayor of Cologne, welcomed us all in the City Hall, saying it was an honour to have Eurovision Young Musicians for the first time here in Cologne, and he wished all the contestants a pleasant stay, a lot of fun, and to enjoy the event. The host broadcaster, WDR, as well as the EBU, welcomed all the participants, and wished them the best of luck in this competition.

The participants and the delegations enjoyed the reception and the relaxed atmosphere of the event. They enjoyed soft drinks and food in the City Hall, and started interacting with each other instantly.
