Portugal names André Gunko as 2014 representative

Portuguese broadcaster RTP has chosen its representative for Eurovision Young Musicians 2014 – say hello to André Gunko!

Sixteen year old André, who was chosen by the Portuguese national broadcaster, lives in Horta in the Azores. He also has Slavic roots, with his parents being from Russia and Ukraine.

André plays the cello, and has done since he was first taken to lessons when he was six years old. In August last year, André won first prize at the Portugal’s most prestigious competition for young musicial talent, the ‘Prémio Jovens Músicos’ – which forms part of a long list of prixes he already has to his name!
