Ljubljana, Slovenia -

Tonight Slovenia will hold their semifinal for Eurovision Young Musicians 2014!

A total of 19 semifinalists will perform tonight in a special event organised by broadcaster RTVSlo. From this, a jury will pick the seven lucky participants who will qualify for the final.

The final itself will take place on 22 January – however it will not be shown live. Instead it will be recorded and broadcast at a later date, most likely after the Winter Olympic Games have finished. In the final, the seven participants will perform together with the RTV Slovenija Symphony Orchestra, conducted by by Steve Loy.

Blaž Šparovec represented Slovenia in 2012 and was the first musician to perform on stage in the semifinal. He did not qualify for the grand final, but in 2010 Eva Nina Kozmus from Slovenia won first prize!
