Norway has chosen its entrant for Eurovision Young Musicians 2014: Sonoko Miriam Shimano Welde!

17-year old is Sonoko Miriam plays the violin, and hails from Bergen. She Her father is Norwegian and her mother is Japanese.

She has been playing the violin since she was five years old, and says about herself “Aside from playing the violin, I like to be with friends, go to the movies, watch figure skating and tennis and read. My favourite composer is Johannes Brahms.”

Norway won the last Eurovision Young Musicians competition, held in Vienna in 2012.
