Radom, Poland -

It's less than a month until Eurovision Young Musicians returns for the 2016 - but what of the participants from two years ago? We find out...

Representing Poland back in 2014 was Bartosz Kołsut. Now 20 years old, we asked him to reflect on taking part in the competition over two years ago. " I spent fantastic and truly unforgettable moments in Cologne in 2014. It’s hard to find words to describe the experiences I went through," recalls Bartosz. "I wish I could turn back time to feel that incredible atmosphere and be filled with such powerful emotions once again."

Poland has a strong tradition in Eurovision Young Musicians, and Bartosz acknowledges the important role it played in his development. "Participating in the Eurovision was an extremely motivating and inspiring factor for my future work and development. It made me convinced that my duty as well as great love is exploring music and its secrets" he told us, before also revealing that he's still in contact with several of the participants from that competition. "During the Eurovision in 2014 I met excellent musicians, but most importantly lovely people. Of course we are still in touch. We should definitely reunite in an interesting place in the world, maybe again in Cologne..."

What has he done since taking part in Cologne? "I’ve managed to achieve many interesting goals. I try to set myself new aims, which are sometimes difficult to fulfil. However, I believe that you cannot stand still; there should always be some motivation to go forward," says Bartosz. "My most significant achievements include performing twice in Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London. These are the experiences that I will always remember and fondly recall, just like the Eurovision."

Finally, what advice would Bartosz give to musicians taking part in this year's event? "Be brave and don’t be afraid to express your emotions, personality and charisma; but above all, do what you are best at, namely indulge yourselves in creating music. Good luck!".
