Ljubljana, Slovenia -

Last night Slovenia held their national selection to find a representative for Eurovision Young Musicians 2014.

Accompanied by the RTVSLO Symphony Orchestra, which was conducted by Steven Loy, the seven finalists from last week’s semifinals performed to the jury of classical music experts in Ljubljana.

The winner was announced as Urban Stanič, who plays piano. He performed Chopin’s Grande Polonaise Brillante , Op. 22 in E-flat major, and impressed the jury sufficiently to be declared the winner.

Slovenia won the competition in 2010, but failed to make the final in 2012.
