Young Musicians Contestants Nominated for Further Accolade
Eiving Holtsmark Ringstad
Norway -

Eurovision Young Musician 2012 winner Eiving Holtsmark Ringstad has been nominated for the Statoils Classical Music Scholarship alongside former Eurovision Young Musicians runner-up Guro Kleven Hagen.

The Eurovision Young Musicians pair just missed out on the 1 million dollar grant, which was eventually awarded to Orchestra Ensemble Allegria by an independent jury on the 19th of November 2012.

According to the scholarships official website:

Jury Director Leif Ove Andsnes was impressed by the quality of all musicians and explains the jury's choice as follows:

"We the jury are very pleased to award Statoil talent scholarship for classical musicians in 2012 to an orchestra Ensemble Allegria. It seethes with young talents in the Norwegian music and many have their origins in a larger music scene. Allegria Ensemble exudes an alert musicality that creates an ensemble game of nerve and intensity, says Andsnes."

Already the former Eurovision Young Musicians contestants are making a big impression, on the classical music scene in Norway, and we hope they continue their success.
